 Hosting a Scriptorium is a great way to bring God's people together around the Word of God. Every Scriptorium has been a blessing to all who attended as they were able to hear large portions of the Bible recited from memory. Your event could be a few hours on a Saturday afternoon, or a two or three day event like has been held in various cities across the US. 

You can do this!

 If you would like to host a Scriptorium in your city or church, we would be glad to help. We can assist in any way you are needing, from overseeing the entire event, or simply guiding you along the way. We can provide you with templates for name tags, bulletins, and even ideas on which passages to recite. Here are the initial steps you would take to host your own Scriptorium: 

1st: Secure a location to host the Scriptorium

Generally Scriptoriums are held in church buildings, but they can be held in community centers or other locations. It is best to talk with your pastors/elders to see if they will help you encourage people to participate. If the leadership of your church is supportive, your event will be much easier to organize.

2nd: Lock in on some dates

It could be an afternoon, a full day, 2 days, or even 3 days. First time Scriptoriums are best if shorter until you get the idea. I would recommend a half day or evening to begin with.

3rd: Decide about which passages to recite

Which passages of Scripture would you like to have recited? How many people do you think will participate? Depending on how many people you hope to have attend often determines how many passages or books to choose. We can help you determine some of these aspects of hosting an event.

4th: Decide about out of town guests

Is this event for local people (your church, community, etc...), or do you want to get others to join you from out of town? If so, can you find host families to provide lodging, etc? 

5th: Supply us with the info

We will set up the event on this website and assist you with your registrations.

6th: Begin promoting the event

Encourage people go to the website to register for a passage to recite at the event.
